TDK Corporation is a major Japanese electronics company founded in 1935 to commercialize ferrite materials. Headquartered in Tokyo, TDK produces passive components including multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC), aluminum and film capacitors, inductors, ferrite cores, sensors, and power supplies. TDK acquired EPCOS (2009) and Murata's competitor in MLCC, serving automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics markets.
